Since 1880

Montagut is a beautiful brand of knitwear created in 1880 by the great-great-great-grandfather of Nicolas Gros and Marine Lozet-Gros, the current company directors. At that time, it was a silk factory near Saint-Sauveur de Montagut, in southern Ardèche. After the war, the shortage of silk drove the factory to transform itself into a knitwear company. It was here that began the creation of sweaters and knitted polo shirts for men and women. Today, the emergence of the Maison Montagut concept has enabled this well-loved brand to affirm its expertise in knitwear by extending its product range to home-decoration items, travel accessories and baby gifts, all of which display its knitting know-how.
